Incorrect ~/.bitcoin perms raises Boost exception, terminates bitcoin-qt #4059

    Accidentally discovered this when migrating to another machine.

    • Debian Wheezy
    • Bitcoin 0.9.1
    • Change permissions on ~/.bitcoin to exclude running user

    @luke-jr Unhandled exceptions are expected? Besides, as the GUI does have a 'first run' window for the user to select where to store bitcoin data - that could be invoked if ~/.bitcoin isn't accessible ;)

    I made a patch once to improve datadir handling (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/3640), it might solve this as well. Needs rebasing though...
