Rather than resorting to other tools to compile scripts, would be nice to have one in-house.

There seems to be consensus that pure utility functions shouldn't be added?
A suggested replacement in functionality is something like https://github.com/kallewoof/btcdeb which can compile scripts using
btcc. -

Closing for now since there are easy to use tools out there, and general consensus is to not add random utils...
